Whether you arrive by train or car in Hitzacker (Elbe), once you have arrived on the beautiful old town island, you will have peace and quiet in your room in the wonderful hotel Hafen Hitzacker and enjoy the view of the beautiful river Elbe and the harbour from your balcony. The 4-star hotel is located in a prime location on the Elbe and Jeetzel rivers as well as at the foot of the vineyard in the middle of the old town island. Depending on your mood, you will find yourself in the cosy restaurant Dierks in the evening of your arrival. You can choose on which evening of your stay you would like to enjoy the 2-course evening menu included in the half-board or the Captain’s Dinner with delicious fish dishes. (For guests who don’t like fish, the hosts of course have very tasty alternatives available!): The hotel’s own restaurant Dierks impresses with its high-quality cuisine consisting mainly of seasonal and market-fresh products. A dream for every pleasure palate!
After a restful night you strengthen yourself for the day at the rich breakfast buffet. Afterwards you can get your own impression of the charming old town of Hitzacker alone or in a group, buy some souvenirs or just relax. In the afternoon Klaus Lehmann awaits you at the museum Hitzacker (Elbe) Das Alte Zollhaus. From there, you continue your journey on the venerable Duchess Dorothea, the popular sofa raft, on the Elbe. Enjoy the unique view of the Elbe valley floodplain and the old island town of Hitzacker (Elbe) from the raft. You will learn interesting facts about the former border area, wrapped up in warm blankets in fresh air, sipping hot drinks.
After the raft ride you will visit Hitzacker’s best-preserved building, the Old Customs House, where you can learn about the eventful history of Hitzacker in this late medieval manor house.
For those who are thirsty for knowledge there will be a city tour of a special kind: A torchlight city tour through Hitzacker (Elbe) at dusk / in the evening light with our certified city guide Anja Zitko. You can transfer what you have already experienced from the museum directly to the city during the guided tour and add to it with the information from Ms Zitko. One thing is certain: It will be exciting!
After all the input you have more than earned your dinner! Let the evening end with your friends – what could be nicer!
After you have enjoyed the delicious breakfast again the next day, you decide for yourself whether you want to spend more time in Hitzacker (Elbe), maybe make a detour to the unique nature in Wendland or return home. Validity
The time of the cultural country tour (Kulturelle Landpartie) from Ascension Day to Pentecost is excluded all year round.
Reservation
Reservations before arrival are possible by telephone or e-mail via the guest information Dannenberg or the tourist information Hitzacker, but at least 3 weeks before. Changes of booking are possible up to 14 days before the planned date of arrival on request and subject to availability. After successful booking no cancellation and refund of the voucher value or transfer is possible. In the event of non-appearance, neither a refund nor a rebooking is possible.
