Amphibian Tour

Amphibians play the primary role on this tour. Numerous types and bodies of water– brackish water, flood channels, sinks, and lakes — form the Elbe river landscape. These wetlands are important habitats for the survival of frogs, toads, and salamanders. Twelve native amphibian species can be found here, and in early summer, their melodious calls or loud croaking can be heard. On the tour through the Dannenberg marshland, information panels at ten different stations provide explanations of the various types and bodies of water and amphibian species. And you can immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the amphibians in the exhibit “Sei (k)ein Frosch” (Don’t be a Frog) in Dannenberg.
