If a round of swimming in the Gartow lake is not enough for you and you prefer to float over the lake, you can rent different pedal and electric boats at the boat rental. Afterwards the beer garden "Bootsterrasse am Gartower See" invites you to a cool drink and a small or large snack.
The river Elbe shapes the natural landscape of the Wendland and creates wonderful experiences at and in the water. However, if you would like to cross the Elbe without getting wet, 4 ferries will bring you safely to the other bank - some of them also your car and/or bike.
You need a break from everyday life? Then go out into the nature in a canoe or kayak! Whether you want to experience just a few hours, a day or a micro-adventure lasting several days, the rivers in beautiful Wendland are the ideal place to get away from everyday stress.
Get on the SUP board and head for Lake Gartow. In the months of May to September you can burn off energy on the SUP board. If you are a complete beginner, just take a SUP course. Are you an advanced practitioner? Then just rent a SUP board and paddle off!
An Elbe river trip on a sofa. Think it’s not possible? Think again! Take the Sofa Raft. Lounge around or sit up straight on the sofa -- the main thing is to enjoy the ride. Maybe you’d like some coffee or even breakfast? Anything is possible. And why not combine this trip with a visit to the Old Customs House? Cast off your lines and let’s go!
Explore the Wendland region by boat. A relaxed and comfortable trip through the Biosphere Reserve on the Elbe river. Sit back and, at your leisure, enjoy the diverse, natural world of plants and animals revealed before your eyes. But the Elbe region also has a cultural heritage that extends from the Romans to Martin Luther and on to the division of the German state. Well worth the trip!
From canoes to kayaks, alone or with friends. Get to know yourself, your friends, and the Wendland region better on a paddle tour on the Elbe river. If you would rather not go swimming, take some canoe/kayak training to master your floating mode of transport. And if you do happen to tip over, you can get right back in the boat!
Trade your paddles for handlebars, your kayak for a bike, or take off your hiking boots and step into a canoe. Enjoy nature in the Wendland region from a different perspective and let its natural beauty enchant you.
More comfortable than paddling yourself. On Elbe Raft Trip you can marvel at the unique, natural river landscape from the water! Flow along with the current and enjoy this peaceful paradise!
Why not try a new perspective? Trade your pedals in for paddles and get moving on the Elbe river. Let yourself float along with the current like Tom Sawyer and enjoy the best seats on the water below soaring white-tailed eagles. The Canoe Station not only rents canoes, but also brings your bicycle to the dock, so you can confidently turn in your paddles and switch back to pedals.
