Stay overnight in the immediate vicinity of the Elbe river in the middle of the biosphere reserve Niedersächsische Elbtalaue and feel the tranquillity of nature and hospitality up close. The traditional family hotel Steinhagen is characterized in particular by the very personal and loving contact with its guests and employees and always puts the people in the centre. In the evening of your arrival you have complete freedom of choice: Either you try the excellent regional cuisine in the restaurant of the Hotel Steinhagen or decide for a relaxing walk at the Elbe dike. It is entirely up to you!
On day 1 of your journey, after an extensive breakfast from the buffet, you “saddle up” your reserved e-bikes, pack your received bike map and embark on a breathtaking journey along the Elbe. You can choose between three cycle paths, which lead directly past the village of Damnatz and are characterized by different degrees of difficulty and track lengths. These popular cycle routes mostly lead you along the Elbe and promise you beautiful views of the flora and fauna of the biosphere reserve of the Lower Saxony Elbe floodplain.
Back in Damnatz, in the evening you have really earned the included 3-course gourmet menu with regional products. Sit back and flatter your palate. On your day of departure, you’ll finally strengthen yourself once more at the rich breakfast buffet and then make your way back home relaxed at your own time.
A visit to the historic timber-framed towns of Hitzacker (Elbe) or Dannenberg (Elbe) is a good excursion option. In addition, we would recommend a visit to the Damnatz Sculpture Garden, which you can reach on foot from Hotel Steinhagen. Or you can ride your e-bike to Dömitz and visit the historic Dömitz Fortress and the Festung Dömitz Museum. Either you visit the recommendations on your own or you get information material from our trained staff of the spa and tourist information Hitzacker (Elbe) and the guest information Dannenberg (Elbe) in the respective town halls. The time of the cultural country tour (Kulturelle Landpartie) from Ascension Day to Pentecost is excluded all year round.
Reservation
Reservations before arrival are possible by telephone or e-mail via the guest information Dannenberg or the tourist information Hitzacker, depending on availability. Changes of booking are possible up to 14 days before the planned date of arrival on request and subject to availability. After successful booking no cancellation and refund of the voucher value or transfer is possible. In the event of non-appearance, neither a refund nor a rebooking is possible.
